GreenRoots Teaching Kitchen (63 Pearl Street, Chelsea)

About the Event

Join us for our Fright Farm Ribbon Cutting & Fall Celebration!

Come celebrate this exciting addition to our food justice corridor, enjoy refreshments (think apple cider donut), and spend time in community. Learn more about this project and how we plan to grow fresh, local food all year long.  Our raised bed gardens may be going to sleep, but our team is not!

Our new freight farm is part of a new, exciting part of our food growing model. Hydroponic growing allows us to grow produce year-round, deepening our capacity to combat food insecurity in the region. The freight farm joins our cadre of existing food justice programs, our teaching kitchen and our existing outdoor urban growing spaces.

Peter Healy, President of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), will keynote the event, as part of our partnership to improve overall health in environmental justice communities.
