Jax Gil (she/they) is a communications professional and trained facilitator with over a decade of experience supporting social justice movements and public sector work.

Before joining GreenRoots, Jax worked as an independent communications consultant. Jax has also worked as a communications manager with HowlRound Theater Commons, a digital publication for theater-makers worldwide, and the City of Providence, where she co-led a city-wide engagement effort around allocating American Rescue Plan funding.  Previously, she was Co-director of Grantmaking at Resist, a Boston-based foundation that supports community organizing work across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Jax has supported the development of the regional social movement landscape through their involvement with local groups employing transformative strategies, such as the Resource Organizing Project, the Boston Ujima Project, and Mijente, a political home for Latinx people who seek racial, economic, gender, and climate justice. Jax is a certified yoga teacher, a mom to a three-year-old dog named Benji, and loves listening to old-school salsa. She is a proud Colombian-American and speaks English and Spanish.

Jax has a Bachelor's in Peace and Justice Studies from Brandeis University, with a minor in Creativity, the Arts, and Social Transformation.
